 Firstly I wanted to find out how often you should have your carpets cleaned and to find out if there is any truth in all those ‘old wives tales’ and myths regarding cleaning your carpets. So I found an expert - Paul Pearce, the Technical Director of the National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA). Paul confirmed that most of these tails like … “If you have your carpet cleaned it will get dirtier quicker” or “A cleaned carpet will stay wet for days” were just old wife’s tales. He explained to me that the NCCA recommends you should clean your carpets at least twice a year … with a large family or multiple pets 4-6 times a year! One of the main reasons you should clean more frequently is not just the appearance, but for health reasons. I found out your carpets act like a ‘filter’ to your home, they trap and hold all the nasty pollutants from the air (which hard floors can’t do). So regular cleaning is important for your family’s health.
