Monitran Technology is Launched ....more info
Monitran launches the g-mac accelerometer signal conditioning module - MTN/8066
High Wycombe, UK - 10th January 2007. Monitran, a world leader in the design and manufacture of vibration sensors, has launched the g-mac accelerometer signal conditioning module as a versatile, cost-effective alternative to traditional vibration monitoring instrumentation.
The g-mac module features signal conditioning and filtering circuitry for identifying the small amplitude, high-frequency elements - present within most machinery vibrations - that provide the earliest indication of wear in, for example, bearings and gears.
Bob Pickard, Monitran's Technical Director, comments: "Normally the tell-tale vibrations associated with mechanical wear and tear are hidden within the overall noise of the machine. The g-mac module , in conditioning these small amplitude, high frequency vibrations, can therefore play a crucial role in predictive maintenance."
Whilst ideally suited for identifying gear and bearing wear, the g-mac can also be used as a versatile and low-cost general-purpose accelerometer signal conditioning unit. Moreover, it can be integrated into wired and wireless networks in order to facilitate the remote monitoring of vibrations in a wide range of industrial applications.
The g-mac module is in a standard DIN format for rail mounting, can accept any standard two-wire accelerometer, and provides three different outputs. These outputs are: a bespoke acceleration signal (proportional to 4-20mA or 0-10V DC); an ISO 10816-3 overall root mean squared (RMS) velocity signal (also proportional to 4-20mA or 0-10V DC); and the raw, alternating current (AC) generated by the accelerometer.
Pickard concludes: "As a designer and manufacturer of vibration sensors, and as a company that works closely with end-users, we're continually investing our expertise and knowledge into the development of cost-effective, professional monitoring solutions. The g-mac is a prime example of a Monitran solution that is fit-for-purpose and provides real benefits."
With a list price of £285.00 plus GB VAT, the g-mac accelerometer signal conditioning module is available immediately.
