Monitran Technology is Launched ....more info
Vibration sensors constantly in public buildings such as airports, hospitals, stations, sports stadiums, etc. 24/7 critical AHU (Air Handling Units) control the air flow in buildings and limited access means that accelerometers are crucial to monitoring their 'condition status'. Other examples of machinery monitoring requirements are pumps, and elevators.
One of our UK installations for our sensors is in building services at a major London hospital where over 450 of our MTN/1100CQ vibration sensors, hardwired to a series of our MTN/3000 switching units, have been installed as part of an extensive predictive maintenance programme. The MTN/3000 switching units are located in safe, accessible positions, allowing vibration readings to be taken using portable data collectors. The ability of the sensors to provide accurate vibration monitoring and measurement has enabled the organisation to completely eliminate the requirement for 'strip down' maintenance on any of the systems being monitored by our sensors. Changes in the vibration signature of properly monitored systems, provide an effective, early indication of degradation in system operation. Maintenance engineers are then able to use this data to plan an effective predictive maintenance schedule to ensure the optimal performance of all systems.
A growing area of application for our vibration sensors is in tunnel extraction systems, for the effective monitoring of fan performance. Recent installations include our MTN/1100C series accelerometers, in a key UK road tunnel, where they are playing a crucial role in predictive maintenance routines, helping to ensure consistent operation of the extraction system and enabling acceptable air conditions to be maintained within the tunnel environment. This is also necessary to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
